Snowmobile club holds open house
The Wiscasset Sno-Goers snowmobile club held an open house at the club house on Recycle Way near the Recycle Center. Members served hot dogs, soda, chips and coffee to everyone that showed up. Three members of the Alna club even rode their sleds to the open house. Several people drove in as there is not a lot of snow anywhere around here.
Work continues on bridges and clearing brush and tree parts out of the trails on Sunday morning. We meet at the club house at 8 a.m. for coffee and get material ready for the day's work. It is always a fun time and with a little snow on the trail we get to ride some. The reroute to the Quick Stop has been completed and signed. Please follow the signs and respect all property owners’ property. The loss of a property in town created a need to reroute the trail. The reroute came about because a few snowmobilers did not respect the property and the owner. We were very fortunate to get permission for the reroute. The club maintains about 30 miles of trails and interacts with Woolwich, Dresden and Alna and points north.
