Medicare for everyone workshops
Wednesday, August 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Coastal Community Center 521 Main Street in Damariscotta with Aging and Disability Resource Counselor Joshua Rich.
Monday, August 17 from 2-3:30 p.m., Spectrum Generations Knox County Aging and Disability Resource Center, 61 Park Street in Rockland with Aging and Disability Resources Counselor Gloria Rhode.
Monday, August 17 from 2:30-4 p.m. in the Wellness Center Conference Room, LincolnHealth St. Andrews Campus Urgent Care Center, 6 St. Andrews Way, Boothbay Harbor with Aging and Disability Resource Counselor Joshua Rich.
These workshops are where you can find the answers to basic questions about Medicare. Attendance at one of the Medicare 101 workshops is required before an individual appointment to discuss what happens when you turn 65 can be made. So that we will have the appropriate number of handouts please call 207-563-1363 a day prior to the workshop date to let Joshua or Gloria know that you will be attending. Although the workshops are free and open to the public a donation of $15 to support the work of your local ADRC is appreciated. Advanced registration is required.Don't delay. Lunch and Learn program
Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center will host its weekly Lunch and Learn program on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 11:15 a.m. Following the luncheon, in preparation for the Coastal Community Center's Summer Benefit Gala on Aug. 12 Chuck Vaughan, co-chair of the Lincoln County Historical Society, will discuss the historic Pownalborough Court House, the only pre-Revolutionary court house in Maine, located on Court House Road in Dresden.
Please call 207-563-1363 by noon on Aug. 3 to make your luncheon reservation (Honey Mustard Chicken) $5 per person for luncheon guests over 60. All others $6 per person. Can't make it to lunch? Community members are always welcome to attend the Center's Wednesday Learn portion of the day's Lunch and Learn program.
Hypnotherapy
Dispelling the myths about hypnotherapy at Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center. On Thursday, Aug. 6 at 3:30 p.m. join certified hypnotherapist Derrick Hyatt as he gives an overview of hypnosis; relating its history and modern uses. Discussion will include a participative demonstration of the subconscious mind in action. All participation is optional, and no one will be singled out to do anything in front of the group.

If you have ever wondered about hypnotherapy and how you can use it to improve your life then you don't want to miss Derrick's informational workshop. This is your opportunity to learn about hypnotherapy and the power of the mind. Community members across all generations are welcome.
Ukulele lessons
This summer let's learn to play the ukulele! You do not have to read music to have fun playing the ukulele. The ukulele is a user-friendly instrument. It is a great beginning instrument for all ages. In these introductory lessons taught by Heather Hardy at Spectrum Generations Coastal Community Center, 521 Main Street in Damariscotta, students will learn how to form basic chords, strum a tune and sing along to songs you are familiar with.
Register today for Heather's Aug. 6, 13, 20 and 27 beginner sessions, which will begin at 3:00 p.m. each day and be prepared to have fun. Sheet music will be provided. Students will need to bring their own ukulele. A concert or soprano ukulele is preferred. If you have a baritone ukulele, it needs to be tuned like concert or soprano, which is G,C,E,A.
