The spirit of the season
On the morning of Dec. 22, just a few days before Christmas, the staff, family and friends and residents at Edgecomb Green enjoyed a very special treat. A group of young students from the Edgecomb Eddy School visited Edgecomb Green (the old Edgecomb Eddy School) and sang a program of familiar Christmas carols to the delight of everyone involved. Residents joined in with smiles and laughter to sing some favorite carols presented by the group of 36 children accompanied by four adults. The caroling event is the last activity that students participate in before they enjoy a holiday break.
After singing, the students greeted the residents with handshakes and gave them decorations and candy canes. Edgecomb Green residents and house manager Crystal Leeman, in turn, gave each child a clementine to express appreciation for the gifts of song and for including Edgecomb Green in their holiday celebration.
