State-of-the-art imaging technology added at St. Andrews campus
The recent installation of state-of-the-art imaging equipment on the St. Andrews campus marks a significant advancement in the quality of images available at MaineHealth Diagnostic Imaging, located in the MaineHealth Urgent Care building in Boothbay Harbor.
The Definium 656 HD radiography system produces digital X-rays with better anatomical detail, said MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital Imaging Manager Pam Hepburn. In addition, the system uses three-dimensional technology to aid patient alignment accuracy. This will reduce the need for repeat imaging studies.
“This investment not only reinforces our commitment to clinical excellence and innovation, but it also elevates the standard of care we deliver,” Hepburn said. “Our radiologists and technologists have the tools needed to provide the highest quality services and improve the patient experience.”
The system also benefits staff members, as the camera positions itself automatically, decreasing physical strain for technologists. It also speeds up the workflow and reduces appointment time.
This technology is available at both the MaineHealth Urgent Care Center in Boothbay Harbor and MaineHealth Lincoln Hospital’s Miles campus.
