Support exists for people caring for or coping with brain-related concerns

LincolnHealth continues to grow its support for community members who suffer with or care for people with brain-related conditions. All of the groups are offered at no cost to the participants.

In Boothbay Harbor, a new addition to the roster is the Brain Injury Support Group, which meets the second Tuesday of each month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Wellness Rehabilitation Community Room on the St. Andrews campus. People who have brain injuries, their caregivers, family members and any interested community members are welcome to attend.For more information, please call Tom Wilson: 207-315-6365.

Those who have or are caring for someone with Parkinson’s disease have two groups to choose from. The Boothbay Harbor group meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 2 p.m. through September in the Wellness Rehabilitation Community Room. In Damariscotta, the group meets on the first Thursday of each month at Chase Point Assisted Living on the Miles campus, beginning at 2 p.m. For more information on either group, please call 207-633-1928.

An Alzheimer’s support group for people living with dementia and their caregivers is offered on the first Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m. in the Wellness and Rehabilitation Department in Boothbay Harbor. For more details, please call 207-633-1928. In Damariscotta, a caregivers-only Alzheimer’s support group is held on the first Thursday of the month at 10 a.m. at Chase Point.
