Svetlana Beattie's art featured at The First
Exotic, dreamy, colorful, and imaginative describe the paintings of Svetlana B. Beattie.
An exhibition of her work can be viewed at The First bank in Boothbay Harbor in October and November during business hours.
Beattie, who lives in Augusta, is active in the art community in Boothbay Harbor. In addition to being an exhibiting member of the Boothbay Region Art Foundation, for 2 years in a row she has been juried into the state-wide ArtinMe. held in Boothbay Harbor. Last year, her large painting “Tsunami” received the third place award.
“For me, when creating art … it is not enough to express myself through colors or brush strokes. It is not enough to let the viewer find something meaningful in my paintings … I want someone looking at my painting to start thinking, to create conversation, and finally to enjoy the resulting relationship between the painting and it’s viewer.” Beattie said.
This solo exhibition is hosted by The First in Boothbay Harbor and produced by the Boothbay Region Art Foundation (www.boothbayartists.org), 1 Townsend Ave., Boothbay Harbor.
