Taxes too high?

Dear Editor:
Wiscasset is a small town, but our property taxes are more in line with much larger communities like Brunswick and Bath although we don’t enjoy many of those big town services, such as curbside garbage pickup. When you vote on Wiscasset’s budget this June keep in mind that every $500,000 worth of spending that you approve equals about 1 mil on your property taxes. Don’t pay property taxes? Your landlord does and that may be why your rent is so high.
Consider voting for Select Board members that will curb wasteful spending.
