Tidepool adventures at Boothbay Sea and Science Center April 23
Join Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library and the Boothbay Sea and Science Center for a special afternoon of Tidepool Exploration! This Spring Break event is free and open to all area families.
Join staff and volunteers from both organizations on Wednesday, April 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. for hands-on activities for kids of all ages. Drop-in anytime during this afternoon of fun that includes exploring tide pools, ocean-themed Story Time, knot tying, seaweed crafts, and more. Participants are invited to stay for the whole event or come and go as they please. All participants must be accompanied by an adult.
Boothbay Sea and Science Center is located at 12 Carter Road, East Boothbay. In the event of unfavorable weather, the rain date will be on Thursday, April 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. Follow facebook.com/bbhlibrary for weather updates for this event.
A limited number of life jackets and boots will be available however participants are encouraged to bring their own. Life jackets are required for tidepooling. We recommend that you wear clothes that will keep you warm and dry in the water.
Parking is available at the Murray Hill Road Public Boat Launch and in the Hodgdon Yachts shed parking lot at 71 Murray Hill Road. From either location it’s a short walk to the Boothbay Sea and Science Center. There will be signs and volunteers guiding the way.
