UPDATE: Details released in Jefferson crash that killed horse

Update: A horse pulling a buggy spooked for an unknown reason while leaving a private driveway on Route 17 in Jefferson about 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, and jumped out in front of a truck Donald Bosvert, 50, of Jefferson was driving eastbound, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Lt. Brendan Kane said in a phone interview Dec. 3. The impact killed the horse, Kane said.

Neither Bosvert nor the buggy’s driver, Noah Hostepler, 22, of Jefferson was hurt, Kane said.

Original post: Lincoln County Sheriff’s Lt. Brendan Kane said via email Thursday, a road accident in Jefferson Wednesday night claimed a horse. “There was a truck versus buggy accident last evening. The horse was killed in the event ... on Route 17 in Jefferson. No people were hurt in the event.”
