The town of Woolwich is making its annual call for volunteers. Residents are needed to serve on a number of boards or committees.

Town Administrator Lynette Eastman has compiled a list of committee seats that currently need filling and hopes enough volunteers will come forward to fill all of the vacancies.

She said applying for a committee seat requires filling out a simple application that takes just a few minutes. Applications are available at the town office at 13 Nequasset Road. Appointments are made by the board of selectmen.

The following is a list of the committees in need of volunteers, the number of seats available and the date on which the term expires. Unless noted all committees and boards meet at the town office.

Agricultural/Forest Resources Committee (meets as necessary) a total of four volunteers are needed. One term expires on May 30, 2016, another on May 30, 2017, and two terms expire on May 30, 2018.

Board of Appeals (meets as needed), one seat is available and the term expires on May 30, 2018.

Cemetery Committee (meets as necessary), four regular members are needed in addition to two alternate members.

Conservation Commission (meets as needed), four seats need filling. There are two seats with terms expiring May 30, 2018, one seat with a term expiring May 30, 2016  and one seat with a term expiring May 30, 2017.

Monument Committee, responsible for keeping the veteran’s monuments in memorial park and at Laurel Grove Cemetery, (meets as needed), there are three vacancies.

Planning Board (meets first Monday of month 7:15 p.m.) one vacancy with the term expiring on May 30, 2018.                                           

Public Communications Committee (meets second Wednesday of month) one vacancy with a term expiring May 30, 2016. Two alternates are also needed for this committee.

Recreation Committee (meets as needed) two seats are available with the terms of both expiring on May 30, 2018.

Road Committee (meets as needed) one seat is available and the term expires May 30, 2017.

Shellfish Conservation Committee (meets first Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m.), two vacancies both terms ending on May 30, 2018.

Solid Waste and Recycling Committee (meets 3rd Wednesday of each month 5:30 p.m.), three seats are available. Two of the vacancies have terms ending May 30, 2016, the term of the third vacancy ends on May 30, 2018.
