Dear Editor:

We, as relatively new residents of Wiscasset, are impressed with the current Board of Selectman, who have accomplished what we believe to be improvements by moving the ball down the field for the first time in decades. We understand the upcoming election on June 14 may jeopardize that momentum. 

Our concern is that some of the existing members of the Board, as well as some of the new candidates, are holding on to old ideas that haven't and won't serve Wiscasset well in the future. As people on  fixed incomes, we both appreciate the benefits of fiscal conservatism. But we believe new ideas and youthful energy are what's needed in our community as we move into the future.

We will be voting for Sarah, Wally and James.
