“Diana Young, The Walnut Ink Drawings,” is on exhibit at Gold/Smith Gallery, 41 Commercial St. Boothbay Harbor. The gallery is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday by appointment.

Diana Young is a plein air painter who lives in Bangor and Eastport. She loves painting outdoors and adores finding the “kernel of a place.” No photograph can achieve the same effect as being there, on the spot, watching how the light can change the personality of a place, recording these sentiments on paper, at that particular moment in time.
