Warren A. Richardson

Warren A. Richardson, 98, of Palmer, Mass., a former resident of Monson, Mass., died Wednesday, December 12, 2012.

Born in Ellington, Conn., to the late Clarence And Carrie (Peck) Richardson, his family first moved to Palmer and then Monson. Warren graduated from Monson High School. 

He was a member of the greatest generation, serving in World War II. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the 859th Transportation Company in India.

He worked for Ellis Woolen Mill in Monson until it closed, then retired from the Warren Woolen Mill in Stafford, Conn.

He was a member of the Monson-Glendale United Methodist Church and was the janitor for many years. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Ware and the Palmer Grange. 

Warren enjoyed spending vacation time at the family cottage at Ocean Point in the Boothbay Harbor region of Maine.

Warren was predeceased by his wife Ruth B. (Norcross) Richardson in 1999.

He leaves sons, Warren of Stamford, Conn. and George and his wife Karen of Palmer; grandson, Eric and his wife Brittani of Chicopee; a brother, Arthur of Monson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by five siblings, Albert, William, Harriet, Dorothy and Edward.

Burial will be private at Hillside Cemetery in Monson. A memorial service will be announced in the future. There are no calling hours. Lombard Funeral Home of Monson has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial donations can be made in memory of Warren to a charity of one's choice.
