As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction... but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone. "The Audience" - National Theatre Live encore - (PG-13; 2 hours, 40 minutes) - Returning to cinemas for the first time in over a decade, Helen Mirren plays Queen Elizabeth II in the Olivier and Tony Award® -winning hit production, directed by Stephen Daldry. For 60 years, Queen Elizabeth II met with each of her 12 prime ministers in a private weekly meeting. This meeting is known as The Audience. From Winston Churchill to Margaret Thatcher and David Cameron, the Queen advised her prime ministers on matters both public and personal. Through these private audiences, we see glimpses of the woman behind the crown and witness the moments that shaped a monarch. Peter Morgan’s Netflix phenomenon "The Crown" was based on this hit play, captured live from London’s West End in 2013. It went on to become one of the most-watched NT Live productions. "Fantasy Life" - (R; 1 hour, 31 minutes) - An anxious law school dropout (Matthew Shear) stumbles into a job babysitting his psychiatrist's three granddaughters and falls for the girls' mother (Amanda Peet), an actress in a rocky marriage. A smart, New York-set romantic comedy co-starring Alessandro Nivola, Judd Hirsch, Bob Balaban, Andrea Martin, Zosia Mamet, and Holland Taylor. Winner of the SXSW Narrative Feature Audience Award. "The Black Pirate" - Silent film with live accompaniment - (1926; 1 hour, 24 minutes) - As part of our 150th Anniversary year, we're celebrating the silent film era! We selected 3 incredible films, representing 3 genres, all presented with live piano accompaniment by composer, Doug Protsik. “The Black Pirate” is the final film in our series. Pirates loot a ship of its riches before blowing it up. Father-and-son survivors of noble birth wash ashore of an island, and the injured father perishes. The son (Douglas Fairbanks) promises to seek revenge by infiltrating the same band of buccaneers and bringing them to justice. Posing as the "Black Pirate," he defeats the captain, captures a merchant ship single-handedly and earns himself a role as their new leader. Unanticipated is a princess (Billie Dove) who needs protection. Plays Sunday, April 26 at 2 p.m. Tickets: $15 adult, $13 LT member, $5 youth.
