Westport selectmen: Richardson reelected, event permit issued
George Richardson Jr. has been reelected as chairman for the Westport Island board of selectmen. Richardson was elected to lead the board for the coming year by his fellow selectmen Ross Norton and Gerald Bodmer at their regular meeting on Monday, July 13. Richardson has served as chairman of the board of selectmen since 1997.
The board also voted to appoint Raye Amirault as the no. 1 alternate to the island’s board of appeals and to appoint Cathy Fuller to the board of appeals for a five year term.
William Cooney, chairman of the town hall committee, attended the meeting to report on the condition of the building. According to Cooney, trim work needs to be replaced and the selectmen approved the repairs. Additional work is needed on portions of the main doors and the board tabled a vote on the door repair until a future date.
