Wiscasset couple celebrates 50th anniversary

Carl and Gracie Urquhart, longtime residents of Wiscasset, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with dinner at Sarah's in downtown Wiscasset. Dating through high school, they finally married in Hartford, Conn., on May 25, 1963 while Carl was in the U.S. Navy.
They moved to Wiscasset by 1970 and raised two children, Carl Urquhart Jr. and Carla Urquhart Pierce. Both Carl and Gracie worked in the town for many years, Carl working for security with Maine Yankee and Gracie working in the Wiscasset school system's lunch program.
The Urquharts are now retired and enjoy bowling, traveling with their motor home and watching many high school sporting events.
They are the proud grandparents of Ryan and Alyssa Urquhart and Kristin and Sarah Pierce, as well as four great-grandchildren (with another expected sometime this month).
