​About 11:08 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, Wiscasset Police Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident on Bath Road near Wiscasset House of Pizza.

​Laughlynn Bragg, 26, of Wiscasset was driving a 2007 Dodge Caliber south on Bath Road. Thomas Sikes, 71, of Edgecomb was driving a 2006 Toyota Tacoma north on Bath Road. The vehicles hit head-on.

​Sikes died at the scene. Bragg was transported to MidCoast Hospital in Brunswick with non-life-threatening injuries.

​Both vehicles were totaled. Wiscasset EMS and Wiscasset Fire departments helped Wiscasset Police Department at the scene. Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office and Maine State Police are reconstructing the crash.

​Bath Road was shut down for about three hours to conduct the investigation. The investigation is ongoing and there may have been witnesses who saw the accident happen, but left prior to being spoken with. If anyone witnessed the accident, we would like to talk to you.
