Wiscasset High’s state grade holds steady at C

The state has given Wiscasset High School a C grade, the same as last year.
“I am pleased that in this fiscal climate, we are able to maintain this score, and it confirms our need to continue examining ways to address our dropout and graduation rates,” Principal Deb Taylor wrote in a May 15 email to the Wiscasset Newspaper.
“We know we have work to do, and will continue that work,” Taylor added in a telephone interview.
Most Maine schools scored a C this year, according to a Maine Department of Education press release on May 15.
The state-based high schools’ grades on four-year and five-year graduation rates and juniors’ SAT scores in reading and math, Taylor said.
