A Connecticut man faces multiple charges following his arrest in Wiscasset Monday. On Sept 11, Wiscasset Police Chief Lange was working a speed detail and checked on the waterfront area, where he observed a suspicious, parked vehicle with Connecticut plates. Both occupants were escorted from the vehicle and through the investigation, over 11 grams of crack cocaine and a handgun were discovered.

The passenger was identified as Hertis Scott, 40, of East Hartford, Connecticut who was on parole and is currently a Fugitive from Justice. He was also charged with Class C possession of firearms by a prohibited person; Class D falsifying physical evidence; and illegal importation of scheduled drugs, with the possession of a weapon making this charge an aggravated count, a Class A felony crime.

Scott was arrested and taken to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. The vehicle’s driver has not been charged.
