Wiscasset Speedway to host 2026 season opener April 18
It’s been a long and tough winter for many but it’s time to say good-bye to the gray skies and moody blues because race season is coming to warm things up in Coastal Maine, starting with the 2026 season opener at Wiscasset Speedway!
In traditional Wiscasset fashion, the season will kick off on Saturday, April 18 with all Group 1 divisions taking the track. This includes the Super Streets, 4-Cylinder Pros, Thunder 4 Minis, the 207 Crate Modifieds in their sophomore season and the track’s premier division, the Pro Stocks.
The green flag flies at 2 p.m., with grandstands opening one hour prior to the green flag. One big change this season is that the race day schedule will remain the same through Coastal 200 (Memorial Day) weekend, making it easier for children and families to attend events while school is still in session.
The schedule format will return to the typical 5 p.m. start time following Coastal 200 weekend and will remain consistent through Boss Hogg 150 (Labor Day) weekend, where the 2 p.m. start time will resume through the remainder of the season.
All Group 2 divisions will take the stage for their season debut on Saturday, April 25, including the Late Models, Modifieds, Strictly Streets and the Roadrunners.
In terms of division sponsors, there has been a lot of movement during the course of the off-season. T&L Automotive, a business co-owned by 2025 Boss Hogg race winner Logan Melcher, will now be the primary sponsor of the Pro Stocks. Darling’s Brunswick Ford has jumped on board this season to head the Super Streets, County Truss has taken over the 4-Cylinder Pros, and Creative Cleanouts will now sponsor the Modifieds.
In addition to this growing list of partners, Davis Erector Group, Wood Pellet Warehouse, Portland Glass and Dale’s Cash Fuel will all return as division sponsors this season.
Wiscasset Speedway has also announced the arrival of the Carver’s Academy Crown Vics, which is a division that has rapidly gained popularity across the nation, much thanks to YouTube superstar and NASCAR hopeful Garrett Mitchell, aka Cleetus McFarland. In its inaugural season, the Crown Vics will be running 5 flex races over the course of the season with the chance of becoming a weekly division in the future depending on participation rates.
The speedway will also maintain their working relationship with various touring series’ in 2026, welcoming the Wicked Good Vintage Racers, Mainely Karting Champ Karts, Senior Tour Auto Racers, Pro Trucks, Ladies Acceleration Tour, 350SMAC, NEMA and N.E. Dwarf Cars.
The track will be upping the ante this year and hosting three Enduro races opposed to the traditional two, including the always-entertaining Fall Fury 150 at the conclusion of the season.
As the cost of living increases throughout the nation and our great state of Maine, track owners Richard and Vanessa Jordan have kept their promise to make racing more affordable for both competitors and fans. They matched last year’s tire prices even though the cost has increased to purchase them and they are also maintaining the $5 grandstand admission price for adults while kids 6 and under get in for free.
Come join in on the fun at Maine’s biggest and fastest this Saturday, April 18.
