Bag program benefits Help Yourself Shelf in December
Help Yourself Shelf (HYS) at St. Philip’s Church, 12 Hodge St. in Wiscasset is pleased to be selected once again as the Hannaford Fight Hunger Bag Program recipient for December at its Boothbay store. For each Fight Hunger bag purchased, Help Yourself Shelf will receive $1.
HYS is appreciative of the support that the Hannaford Stores have given the Shelf. Without the support of the local stores’ donations, as well as individuals’ and groups’ support, what the Shelf is able to provide weekly would be meager, indeed.
The Shelf has already provided items for the Thanksgiving meal for those seeking provision, but those who still need some supplies, are able to contact HYS to arrange for meal preparation items.
Please contact St. Philip’s at 882-7184, leaving a short message and a call back number. A pantry volunteer will return your call. Alternately, write us at helpyourselfshelf@gmail.com or message us through our Facebook account at https://www.facebook.com/HelpYourselfShelfFoodPantry/
While Help Yourself Shelf at St. Philip’s is usually open each Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m., this Thanksgiving week, we shall be open for the weekly pantry on Wednesday, the 26th, from 4:30 to 5:30. Check in and general procedure will be as usual lining by number and self-selection shopping from items available.
For November, HYS is the designated Fight Hunger Bag Program recipient in Damariscotta. That honor shifts to the Boothbay store for December. Please consider where and when you need to shop and pick up bags to Fight Hunger.
To donate to the Pantry, please send a check made out to St. Philip’s Church, with Help Yourself Shelf on the memo line, and send it to St. Philip’s at 12 Hodge St., Wiscasset, ME 04578. No amount is too small or too large.
Happy Holidays.
