Woolwich to honor veterans
Woolwich town officials and residents will gather on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at the historic Nequasset Meetinghouse, across from the town office, at 11 a.m. to honor the men and women who have served their country in the military.
“This will be the third year in a row that we have put on this program,” Town Administrator Lynette Eastman said.
Reverend Dr. Alan Baughcum will give the opening and closing prayers. Speakers from the Mid-Coast Veterans Resource Center located on the former base in Brunswick will be in attendance as well to share information on ways they help local veterans.
The Girl Scouts will post the colors for the ceremony and the Montsweagers will play patriotic songs for everyone to sing along to.
All veterans, their families and the general public are invited to the ceremony. For more information call: Collette Coombs, 207-443-3570.
