Woolwich man arrested on forgery charges
A Woolwich man was arrested on forgery charges in Brunswick on May 7. David Gillison, 31, of Woolwich, was caught attempting to cash a check for $5,000 from the Sagadahoc County Administrative Office at ACE Cash Express on Pleasant Street in Brunswick.
Staff there contacted the Brunswick Police Department just before noon that day, according to Deputy Chief Marc Hagen.
Gillison had been issued a check from Sagadahoc County for $10 for previous court services, Hagen said, but Sagadahoc County staff confirmed they did not issue Gillison a check for $5,000.
Gillison was issued three charges: Forgery, a probation hold for violating conditions of probation and a violation of condition of release, Hagen said.
Gillison is scheduled to appear in at the Cumberland County Superior Court on July 16 to face these charges.
