Wiscasset Police Department

Worster gets sergeant chevrons

Mon, 09/11/2017 - 2:15pm

Craig Worster, Wiscasset School Resource Officer, is now Sergeant Worster.

His pinning ceremony took place on Sept. 11 at the Wiscasset municipal building. Worster was sworn in by Town Clerk Linda Perry. His fiancee, Dr. Margaret Marcone, pinned the chevrons on both collars.

The triple chevron comes from the military symbol denoting sergeant. Because it was Sept. 11, all officers wore their badges banded in black in remembrance of the attacks on 9/11 and the large number of first responders who lost their lives that day, Chief Jeff Lange said.

Worster will continue with his duties as SRO while serving as second in command at the department until a suitable candidate is found.
