Wrong again!
I goofed! I thought because the calendar said it was September, it was.
It seemed like September.
But, shortly after I opened my mouth, I was sitting on a rock over at the Department of Marine Resources, overlooking the harbor with a lovely group of people from near Syracuse, N.Y., (recognized because they had my mother's voice) when the space in front of Tumbler became anything but empty.
And, I should have been less certain about September anyway, because when I left the house that same day the thermometer read 85 F. A sure indication that September had been delayed.
Town was jumpin' too. The cruise boats were packed and there were sailboats everywhere. What was I thinking?
Then, to top it all off, as I chatted with our visitors from N.Y., out of nowhere, into the harbor chugged the Bounty. It was quickly passed on her left side (hi Sonny) by The Fez of Mouse Island who may or may not have been on a mail run. That's summer stuff!
I am wrong about many things, but being wrong about September was unanticipated.
