Small round snowflakes float on air
Bouncing, Seuss-like, here... and there.
All the while the blue sky beams
And I dream of yawns replacing screams.
A snowy owl gazes down
From rooftops, outcrops east of town
O'er fields and streets and coves and streams
As I dream of yawns replacing screams.
Open ears and hearts (and mouths at pause)
Replacing cacophonies of cause
When we tire of casualties, extremes
And seize the moments when yawns...
Replace our screams.
