On Saturday, July 14, the Second Congregational Church in Newcastle, UCC, will host its annual Church Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, in the Fellowship Hall. All proceeds will support the church's many outreach ministries.

A large array of lightly worn treasures, a bake sale, a "Man Cave" (tools, gadgets, gewgaws, gimcracks, doohickies, and assorted whatnots), silent auction items, and a display of Shaker boxes and gear for sale from The Carpenter's Boat Shop, and more, will be available. The Second Congo church fairs have gained a reputation as being one of the finest kind of classic summertime charitable events in the area.

Of special note, lobster rolls will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Along with the freshly picked local lobster, there will chicken salad sandwiches with drinks and brownie sundaes! Lobster roll lunch will cost $15 (a local bargain!), or chicken salad for $8. Call the church office at 563-3379 with any questions.
