Duane Goud took daughter Brianna to Wiscasset’s annual father-dance for years. One year, they missed it, so he had to take her out to dinner, Goud, now parks and recreation director, recalled, laughing.
He recalled the dances being “very enjoyable” father-daughter time. The tradition continues Friday, Feb. 7 at Wiscasset Community Center. The 19th annual event runs 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A flyer notes, “If Dad is not available, no problem. Grandpas, uncles and father figures are all welcome.”
Goud said to look for WCC to go big on decorations for this year’s dance. And he said some tables and chairs might be brought into the gym so event-goers can have a seat when taking a break from the dance floor.
