Ballot referendum during Edgecomb town meeting
There will be a non-binding referendum on the ballots in the towns of Boothbay and Boothbay Harbor and during the Edgecomb Town Meeting asking "Do you support maintaining the status of a Critical Access Hospital at St. Andrews Hospital?"
A yes vote will provide the Attorney General and the local selectmen with the answer to the question: does the Boothbay region support having St. Andrews as a hospital with a 24/7 emergency room? Ninety-five percent of Southport attendees voted yes at their annual town meeting.
The town of Boothbay will be voting on this referendum May 6 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Boothbay Town Office. The Boothbay Annual Town meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. that same night at the Railway Village Town Hall, but the non-binding referendum vote is during the day at town office.
The town of Boothbay Harbor will be voting on this referendum May 3 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Boothbay Harbor Town Office.
