A Jefferson man received what appeared to be a non-life-threatening head injury May 18 when the motorcycle he was operating failed to complete a turn in Whitefield, Lincoln County Sheriff's Lt. Rand Maker said.

Jonathan Hoffman, 33, was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, Maker said. The 2005 BMW motorcycle was heading northbound on Head Tide Road when it left the roadway and came to a stop in a southbound shoulder.

Hoffman was ejected from the motorcycle, Maker said.

The accident was reported at 6:37 p.m. Hoffman was taken to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta. The accident remains under investigation.
