Vote for Ed Polewarczyk Nov. 8

Mon, 10/17/2022 - 3:00pm

Dear Editor:

Maine House District 47 is new this year. The towns of Alna, Jefferson, Whitefield and Wiscasset compose the district. There are three candidates running and two are Independent.

Mailers that I received this week are telling. One is from a candidate that his platform is so generic that you question what he is all about. The other’s record having been a state representative before is tax and spend. Both candidates wasted the back of their mailer by giving the voters a hunting guide. Not that hunting in not important to Mainers but people are suffering right now for a number of reasons. A hunting guide is not the answer to Mainers questions.

Edward Polewarczyk is the third andidate. His mailer is clear as to what he wants to do for the constituents in District 47. His resume to represent District 47 is outstanding. Ed has experience as Wiscasset Selectman and Chair; Wiscasset Budget Committee; Lincoln County Budget Committee Chair; School Board member St. John’s Catholic School, Wiscasset Area Chamber of Commerce member, 2014 Community Impact Award winner, veteran 1st Lieutenant U.S. Army Signal Corps, and American Legion member. He has a BS from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Master of business administration, from American International College.

Ed has been endorsed by NRA and the Sportsman Alliance of Maine.

Ed has a clear vision for District 47. Reduce state income taxes so Mainers can keep more of their money. Audit state government reducing waste and eliminating ineffective programs. State government has grown under Governor Mill’s administration not shrunk. Lower energy costs we all are frustrated with high gas prices and cost of heating our homes. School safety and respect the rights of parents children should be kept safe at school and parents should have total control over what their children are learning at school. Foster public safety by increasing penalties for drug trafficking. There are so many Mainers losing their lives to drug addiction. More affordable cost of health care and mental care which is going up and programs need to be looked at.

As a property owner in Whitefield, I urge everyone in District 47 to vote for Ed Polewarczyk on Nov. 8.
