Update: Wiscasset Area Chamber of Commerce, which was sponsoring this event along with Wiscasset Parks and Recreation, announced Tuesday, Oct. 11 that this event has been canceled due to limited participation. 

Original post: The event is Saturday, Oct 14 from 11 to 1 p.m. The deadline to enter is Wednesday, Oct. 12. There is a $20 entry fee.

Wiscasset Area Chamber of Commerce and Wiscasset Parks and Recreation will provide bowls, plates, napkins and utensils. Please provide a crockpot of chili/chowder for the tasting as well as a serving utensil. You may garnish your chili/chowder as you normally would. Pumpkin desserts served in small bite-sized pieces, please. Bring your chili/chowder heated, please!

Prizes awarded for each of these categories: Chili, Chowder, and Dessert. Best of and People’s Choice.

Numbers will be assigned and please bring a recipe card to display, for food allergy considerations as well as interest!

Please be ready to set up a half hour prior to the contest in the Wiscasset Town Office Selectmen’s Meeting Room.
