Art For Arts' Sake
The Lincoln Arts Festival is so proud to present another weekend devoted to celebrating the extraordinary talents of our Midcoast artists. All that glitters isn't usually gold, but it’s the real thing this time with original hand-made jewelry created by Rhoda Weyr (gold) of Boothbay and Nancy Prisk of Southport Silver.
There is glass cleverly wrought by Dick MacDonald; oils and watercolors by Bill Dixon, June Elderkin, and Suzanne Marinell and Hilary Bartlett; silks by Barbara Lally; wools by Jill Butke; paintings by John Butke, Dennis and Leslie Muir Volpe; exciting works by Tom Knobloch and Margaret Canepa; ceramics by Elise Anderson; wonders in wood by Margaret Yarranton; alligators and more by Mike Lewis; and, new this year, a workshop for local aspiring wood-block artists by Kim and Philippe Villard.
The show will be held at the Boothbay Region Boatyard on Southport Island, Friday, August 24 through Sunday, August 26. The public is also invited to an artist's reception on Thursday, August 23 from 5 to 7 p.m.
Come along and hear beautiful music provided for the reception by Sam Schwehm and nibble delectables donated by area restaurants. Please come and help the Lincoln Arts Festival once again celebrate the arts in Maine.
