Ben Gapski wins 110M, 300M hurdles in MVC meet
The Boothbay/Wiscasset boys' track and field team finished third April 29 in the Mountain Valley Conference meet in Wiscasset. The Seawolves won three of 18 events. The team scored 69 points. Maranacook finished second with 70, and Lisbon dominated the meet, scoring 179.
Ben Gapsky won the 110M and 300M hurdles and finished second in the high jump and triple jump. AJ Crocker posted a victory in the 3200M race.
In the 200M dash, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Isaac Fanslau finished fifth with a 25.72 second mark. Maleek Beaumier of Lisbon won with 24.62.
In the 400M dash, Fanslau finished second with 56.96. Jonah Jenkins of Kents Hill won with 56.38. In the 800M run, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Louie Caidoc finished third at two minutes, 29.74 seconds. Teammate Ethan Clark finished fifth with 2:31.24. Samuel Liudvinatis of Lisbon won with 2:13.57.
In the 1600M run, Clark finished fifth at five minutes, 27.77 seconds. Caidoc finished sixth at 5:30.22. Cooper Tarbuck of Maranacook won with 5:15.18.
In the 3200, Crocker won posting a 10-minute, 50.89 second mark. In the 110M hurdles, Gapski won with a 17.87 second time. In the 300M hurdles, Gapski won with 48.34.
In the 4x400M relay, the Boothbay/Wiscasset team of Clark, Aron Geddes, Fanslau and Caidoc finished third at four minutes, 19.94 seconds. Kents Hill won with 4:02.79. In the 4x800M relay, Boothbay/Wiscasset's team of Clark, Caidoc, Nathan Percival and Crocker finished third at nine minutes, 46.79 seconds. Lisbon won with 9:32.83.
In the high jump, Gapski finished second with a 5-foot, 2-inch leap. Beaumiier of Lisbon won at 5-10. In the triple jump, Gapski finished second at 36 feet, 3 inches. Lisbon's Jacob Robertson won with 38-7.5.
In the discus, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Logan Bourne finished fifth with a 87-foot throw. Lisbon's Spencer Baldwin won with 123-9. In the shot put, Bourne finished fourth with a 34-foot, 9.5-inch throw. Lisbon's Baldwin won with 38-2. In the 1600M race walk, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Ross Gaffney finished second at eight-minutes, 30.94 seconds. Ryan Hanlon of Lisbon won with 8:20.31.
The team's next meet is at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 7 in Wiscasset.
