Storms a’coming
Lincoln County was in for batches of thunderstorms beginning about 2 p.m. Sunday, July 27, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service said. The storms, from the first batch expected to run until about 5 p.m., Sunday, to the last, tapering late in the afternoon on Monday, July 27, could produce heavy rain and gusty winds, said Nikki Becker, meteorologist at NWS’ Gray office
After Sunday afternoon’s round, Lincoln County should see a lull until about 10 p.m. Sunday, when more storms roll in and stick around through early morning. Those may be the strongest of the ones that come the county’s way Sunday and Monday, Becker said.
The last round of storms was expected to start hitting Lincoln County around 8 a.m. Monday and taper late that afternoon.
Sunday afternoon’s storms were to be the same batch that was over New York on Sunday morning, Becker said; Monday’s will be caused by an upper-level low currently forming over Maine.
