Fireworks, Maine theme mark Wiscasset’s July 4

Think Maine, Wiscasset Fourth of July parade entrants. This year’s theme is “A Maine Kind of Fourth.”
The 10 a.m. Saturday, July 4, parade will start on Hooper Street and continue on to Federal, Main and Middle streets, according to an announcement on the town website at www.wiscasset.org. Entrants line up at 9 a.m. on Churchill Street.
A veterans memorial salute and flag-raising are set for 11 a.m. at the waterfront.
The Wiscasset Yacht Club is hosting a social at 11:30 a.m. Strawberry shortcake at the club is scheduled for 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Plans call for parade winners to be announced at the club at 12 p.m.
Fireworks over the Sheepscot River are scheduled for 9 p.m, according to the online announcement.
