Boothbay motorcyclist released
Andrew Wheeler of Boothbay was released from Central Maine Medical Center early last week, according to long-time family friend, Neal Verge, also of Boothbay.
Following the November 2 collision on Route 27 in Boothbay Harbor between Wheeler, on a Suzuki motorcycle, and Joshua Zehm, in a Grand Cherokee, Wheeler was taken to St. Andrews Hospital. Verge confirmed that Wheeler was transported from St. Andrews to CMMC via LifeFlight.
Verge said Wheeler had a broken nose and multiple injuries but was out of the hospital and up and around.
The collision occurred when Zehm began making a left-hand turn into the Irving parking lot in front of Wheeler, ejecting him from his motorcycle.
Boothbay Harbor Police Chief Bob Hasch said Zehm was issued a ticket for lack of insurance at the scene. Officer Fred Hutchings, lead investigator on the case said once the report on the collision is completed it will go to the district attorney's office for review. Additional charges against Zehm, if any, would come from the district attorney.
