Childhood sexual abuse prevention workshop at YMCA October 15
Childhood sexual abuse is pervasive in our communities. Stories appear regularly in our local papers about arrests made right here in Lincoln County. Statistics report one in three girls and one in six boys will fall prey to this damaging behavior. The CDC ACES study finds childhood sexual abuse to be one of eight identified childhood experiences that can cause life long health issues including alcoholism and substance abuse, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, obesity, and possible early death.
Come learn what childhood sexual is considered to be in the state of Maine, who the perpetrators are, what strategies they use to abuse children, and what parents can do to prevent their children from becoming a victim.
This free workshop is being held at two different times Thursday, October 15at the Boothbay Region YMCA. The first workshop is at 10 a.m. and the second at 6:30 p.m.
