Maine-Ly Pawn back on Damariscotta planning board agenda
The Damariscotta Planning Board on Monday, Jan. 4 is set to take up Maine-Ly Pawn’s request for a conditional use permit, involving the ordinance for outdoor display and storage of sales goods.
Mark Hoffman, owner of the business at 535 Main Street, applied earlier this year; in September, the board determined the application was incomplete.
Hoffman has said he felt like he was being singled out. According to town officials, he began displaying goods outdoors at the business’ new location in 2015, after saying he wouldn’t.
The board meets at 7 p.m. Monday at Damariscotta Town Hall, 21 School Street.
Also at its regular monthly meeting, the board will take up an application for an amended site plan permit to enlarge a sign at 590 Main Street; review any changes to a draft for a new sign ordinance; and prepare for an upcoming workshop on it.
The sign ordinance workshop is Monday, Jan. 11, beginning at 7 p.m. in the town hall conference room.
