The St. Andrews Task Force and Lincoln County Healthcare have “significant” news that will be announced Wednesday, Dec. 5, Edgecomb Selectman Stuart Smith said.

Speaking at Monday's board of selectmen's meeting, Smith said Lincoln County Healthcare employees will get the information first, at 10 a.m. Wednesday, two hours before the public does, by “mutual agreement” of Lincoln County Healthcare and the task force.

Smith serves on the task force and has been regularly apprising selectmen of new developments, but would give no hints Monday of what the announcement entails.

“The suspense is killing me,” the selectmen's secretary Jen Elkins said after Smith's remarks.
