Missing Wiscasset man found
An 84-year-old man was found Wednesday evening, after spending several hours in the woods.
At approximately 4:10 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12, Sergeant Kathy Williams of the Wiscasset Police Department responded to 410 West Alna Road in Wiscasset for a reported missing person, according to the Wiscasset Police Department.
Gloria Dow called reporting that her husband, Harold Dow, 84, was missing. He had gone into the woods surrounding their property on West Alna Road at approximately 1 p.m, Wednesday.
Wiscasset Police Chief Cline responded to assist in the search for Dow, along with members of the Wiscasset Fire Department, Bath Police K9 Team and Maine Warden Service.
Neighbors heard a male yelling in the woods next to the residence as the K9 Team was beginning their track. After being in the woods since 1 p.m., Dow was located at approximately 5:30 p.m., just over an hour after the police were called.
Dow appeared to have fallen down a small hill into a brook next to the residence. He showed signs of hypothermia and Wiscasset EMS personnel responded to treat and transport Dow to Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta.
