Fundraising supper in Edgecomb
A fundraising supper will be held at the Edgecomb Community Church on Saturday, June 18 to benefit the Thon Met Refugee Resettlement Program in Southern Sudan. The program involves building a hut and managing the travel and moving in for each family. As refugee camps are dismantled there is an increasing need for permanent housing for refugee families.
Sponsored by the Mission Outreach Committee, the supper will be held in the wheel chair accessible church fellowship hall. The menu consists of homemade casseroles, salads, rolls, beverages and elegant desserts. The supper will be served from 5 to 6 p.m. The charge is $8 for adults and $3 for children under twelve.
The thrift shop will open at 4:30 p.m. for browsers who come early.
The church is located on Cross Point Road in Edgecomb. Take Route 27 from Route 1 toward Boothbay Harbor. Go approximately one mile to the Mason Road, which bears off to the right. At the end of the Mason Road, about 200 yards, bear right on Eddy Road. The next left is Cross Point Road. The church is on the corner.
