Who is Clara Bow? Learn the story of the woman largely regarded as the figurehead of flapper culture. Clara bow was a silent movie turned “talkie” actress who shocked the world with her unconventional background and larger than life on-screen persona.

The BRES 8th graders are putting on a Community Cook out Sunday afternoon at Brady’s from 4-6pm. Hopefully everyone has their power back but if not please feel free to come on down for this donation only event to support the kids!!Hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, and all the fixins will be cooked by Chef John and special guests!!

New Hope MIdcoast, the Regional Domestic Violence Resource Center serving Midcoast Maine, is seeking donations of high-quality clothing and accessories from now through July 3^rd. Items will be resold at their annual Shop for Hope Event to be held July 11-13 at the Flanagan Center in Rockland, Maine.

There goes the neighborhood.

In other news, Liana and I continued our twenty-five year tradition of not going out for Valentine's Day.

The Lincoln Home welcomes the public to enjoy Freeport’s Michael Perry, March 29 at 3:00 p.m., for a collection of scenic road trips in Southern Maine and along the Mid-Coast. Breathtaking vistas from Ogunquit’s Cliff House to the shores of Lovewell Pond in Fryeburg to the windjammer fleet in Camden.  We will stop to enjoy beautiful beaches, classic Maine eateries like Bob’s Clam Hut in Kittery to Wasses Hot Dog stand in Rockland.

The month of February saw a statewide uptick in both sales and home prices, due to continued buyer demand and an increase in single-family homes available for sale. Statistics shared by Maine Listings indicate a jump in home sales of 11.44 percent, comparing February 2024 to February of last year. The median sales price increased 7.52 percent, reaching $354,000, during that same period of time. The MSP indicates that half of the homes were sold for more and half sold for less.

New Hope Midcoast, Midcoast, Maine’s comprehensive Domestic Violence Resource Center, will host a free Domestic Violence Roundtable Discussion from 10:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 26^th at the Belfast Free Library in Belfast. Everyone is welcome.

Can you believe it?? 5 months and 18 Mondays of Community Lunches come to an end for the spring this Monday the 18th. Our Lady Queen of Peace will host for the 1st time at Brady’s and we welcome them!! Join us for amazing food and fellowship.  We are thrilled to announce the call for makers, artists, and designers to participate in the Fishin' For Fashion Show strutting down the catwalk (made of lobster crates) on June 15th! This unique show will spotlight the innovative use of rescued marine industry materials to craft one-of-a-kind fashion pieces that redefine style while championing our seaside stewardship. This beloved tradition is returning for its 9th year.
