Damariscotta Selectmen
Alewives, aquaculture and the waterfront
Tue, 03/18/2014 - 5:00pm
The river will be the focus this week. The Damariscotta River, that is.
The Damariscotta Board of Selectmen will host its second meeting of the month at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19 at the town offices and will discuss, among other things, the rights to alewives, aquaculture licenses and an appointment to the waterfront committee.
The board had previously discussed the rights to harvest alewives on the river at its March 5 meeting. Namely, that commercial harvesting the small fish is prohibited along the Damariscotta side of the river.
The board will also go over an aquaculture license renewal for Dodge Cove Marine Farm and appoint another member to the Waterfront Project Committee.
The meetings are open to the public.
