Saturday, May 14 is the day for day lily lovers, when the Newcastle-Alna Baptist Church holds a plant and yard sale at Erskine Hall in Alna from 8 a.m. to noon.

There will be a wide variety of the hardy perennials, some developed by Alna’s own celebrated hybridizer, the late Dr. Joseph Barth, as well as many second hand items and collectibles.

The hall is located next to the post office on Dock Road. There will also be baked goods for sale. All proceeds benefit the church.
