April 19 update: 867 confirmed COVID-19 cases statewide

Sun, 04/19/2020 - 11:15am

AUGUSTA — The Maine CDC has updated its list, April 19, of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state of Maine.

Today, there are 867 cases confirmed across the state.

Across the state, 393 people have recovered from COVID-19, while 34 people have passed. The number of hospitalizations across the state stands at 136.

The Maine CDC reports 14,076 negative cases, as of April 15. “Maine CDC will publish negative results once a week on Wednesdays. Because of the number of outside labs that are testing samples from Maine, it is not currently possible to post a complete count of negative tests on a daily basis,” the Maine CDC website states.

By sex, 460 females have tested positive in the state and 407 males have tested positive.

The below cases represents the number of full-time Maine residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Maine CDC.

“This is likely an underrepresentation of the true number of cases in Maine since not all individuals are being tested,” the Maine CDC says. “For individuals not considered to be at high risk, medical providers are currently advised to diagnose COVID-19 based on symptoms.”

Each day, the Maine CDC updates its COVID-19 data on its website by noon with the latest coronavirus numbers from across the state. Today’s update came at 11:15 a.m.
