The Atlantic Captains Academy will be conducting courses in Brunswick and Portland for candidates interested in obtaining their U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s License. The Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels (OUPV) course is divided into four sections; Navigation General, Chart Plotting, Rules of the Road and Deck General. All materials and testing are included in the cost. Testing will be done in the classroom, so candidates are not required to take any tests with the Coast Guard.

Tuition is $950. Southern New Hampshire University: Brunswick, ME: The OUPV class will meet every Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. beginning Jan. 24, for 18 weeks.  Port Harbor Marine in South Portland, ME: The OUPV class will begin on Monday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. and runs every Monday and Thursday for nine weeks.
