August celebrations at Boothbay Railway Village Museum
The month of August is jam packed with summertime fun for all ages at the Boothbay Railway Village!
The very popular Children's Day returns this Sunday, Aug. 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with steam and barrel train rides, waterslides, a scavenger hunt, transportation dig, games and activities for all ages - get a temporary tattoo. Meet Willow the owl at the Pollination Station Festivities are included with museum admission and members are free. Lunch options will be available for sale, as well as face painting.
The third annual Founder’s Day to honor museum founder George McEvoy will take place on Sunday, Aug. 17. To commemorate George’s vision of preserving history and his lifelong service to the Boothbay region, the day will be offered free of charge to residents of peninsula town’s Edgecomb, Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, East Boothbay, Barter’s Island, and Southport.
Cocktails and Chrome: The antique auto affair and major museum fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 23 from 6-9 p.m. The gala evening will begin in the Antique Auto Museum with live music, hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, and continue on the Village Green with culinary delights and handcrafted cocktails catered by Boothbay Harbor Restaurant Group, and dancing under the stars to the Don Campbell Band. Plus a silent auction and 61 years of memories! Proceeds will benefit the expansion of the antique auto museum and archive building. Tickets are on sale now at RailwayVillage.org. The museum extends a very special thank you to event sponsors; Carousel Marina, The Whale's Tale & Seafarer's Pub, Janson's Clothing, and Don and Chris Kenniston.
The Cars and Coffee series continues on Sunday, Aug. 31 from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Drive to the Boothbay Railway Village with your classic vehicle and enjoy coffee and story swapping! The series takes place on the last Sunday of the month and continues through September.

Glen MacNutt Art Exhibit: "The Symbols of Salesmanship' is currently on display in the Town Hall building. The exhibit is a series of oil and watercolor paintings by artist Glenn MacNutt depicting vintage scenes of salesmen in action. The collection was generously donated by Bob Andrews of Georgia.
