Big Al’s Super Values in Wiscasset is the subject of a six-page piece in the June issue of Down East Magazine, Al Cohen, owner of the Route One store, told fellow Ordinance Review Committee members Monday night.

Cohen said the piece includes a photo of his Boston terrier Miss Lilly, who accompanied him to Monday’s meeting held in the municipal building’s map room because the meeting room was not available. She sniffed throughout the room before settling into Cohen’s lap.

Cohen noted his surprise at seeing another photo, a large one of his face, he said.

Downeast.com lists “Big Al’s Is Huge!!!” under the magazine’s June features. “You’ve seen the ads.  You’ve seen the suspenders. Now get to know the discount king of Route 1.”
