Boothbay couple are regulars at Bath Antique Sale

Fri, 01/03/2020 - 8:45am

The third installment of the Bath Antique Sale takes place on Sunday, Jan. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bath Middle School, 6 Old Brunswick Road, Bath. Among the dealers present will be Steve and Eleanor Alley of Westwind Antiques and Collectables in Boothbay Harbor.

Married 57 years, the Alleys have been regulars at the Bath Sale nearly since its inception. Steve collects nautical items, woodenware, primitives, hutches, and china closets while Eleanor deals in quality glassware, porcelain, and china. The Alleys always thought they would have an antiques store some day, until Eleanor realized that the last place she wanted to be was in a shop every day. For years they had spaces in group shops and antiques malls and set up at antiques shows such as the Bath Sale. Now in retirement, they still look forward to the Bath Sale during the winter months.

On Jan. 12, the Bath Middle School gymnasium will become a lively and active marketplace. Steve and Eleanor will be in the company of 50-odd other professional dealers in antique and collectables. A dedicated seating area with lunch provided by Sarah’s Catering rounds out the shopping atmosphere.

The Bath Sale is easily accessible from the Congress Avenue exit of U.S. Route 1 in Bath. Posted signs near the Route 1 exit will direct drivers the short distance to the school. Admission is $5.00, $4.00 with a show card or print ad. Admission is free to those 25 years or under.
